JEM passes quality audit with flying colours
Rushden-based JEM Education Marketing Services is among an elite band of UK mailing
houses which continue to uphold tough new quality standards.
JEM passed its recent annual audit with flying colours. The BS EN ISO 9002/1994 business quality standard
has been phased out and replaced with the new BS EN ISO 9001:2000. This sets higher standards for companies to
achieve, with the accreditation body looking for evidence of continuous improvement within the business.
General Manager André Kleinman said the company's success in meeting the new quality benchmark was even
more pleasing considering that it had laso relocated its production facility during 2003. JEM is part of the
Orbital Marketing Services Group and in late summer it relocated from its Abingdon site to the Group's regional
distribution centre at Express Park, Shipton Way in Rushden, Northant's. "The auditor, Lucinda Parfitt of Quality
Certification Systems International, was complimentary about the improvements that have been made within our
business since the last audit a year ago", added André.
Since pioneering the concept of shared mailings to the education sector in the early 1970's, JEM has
established itself as one of the leading providers of direct mailing services within the market. It targets
30,000 schools, colleges and universities on behalf of clients promoting everything from learning resources to
sports equipment, from organised day trips to art supplies. JEM also offers clients a comprehensive range of
campaign management services. Clients include leading educational resource publishers, equipment and service
providers.
